December 31st Africa A terror suspect who was under close police surveillance has gone missing, it emerged this evening. Counter terrorism detectives today appealed to the public for help in tracing 28-year-old Ibrahim Magag who has been missing since Boxing Day.
He is believed to have absconded from a terror control order called a Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures notice (TPIM). He is not considered at this time to represent a direct threat to the British public.
But Counter terrorism detectives urged anyone who sees Magag to ring 999 immediately. He was last seen in north London. Police were alerted on Wednesday evening when Mr Magag failed to meet his overnight residence condition.
The Counter Terrorism Command immediately launched inquiries to trace him. At the request of the police an anonymity order imposed by a court was lifted today to allow the public appeal.

'Magag is described as a black man of Somali origin, 6ft 2ins, of slim to medium build, with a beard, although it is possible that he may try to change his appearance.
